My name is Mel Nichol and I am the owner of Take The Lead – Adventure Dog Walks. Having lived with dogs and other pets for many years, I have a real affinity with dogs in particular. My life’s journey for the last 20 years took me down the path of working in the corporate world when I decided to change my focus and make use of my connection to dogs and the love of the outdoors. This has led me to directing my energy to good use by providing a hassle-free and reliable adventure dog walking service.
In following my passion of working with animals, I am also making strides in understanding dogs behaviour as a whole by immersing myself in study, having recently completed my Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Training to ensure that I fully appreciate the language that your dogs speak.
Our objectives are to ensure that your dogs are not left alone too long during your working/busy hours and give them the opportunity for physical exercise within a stimulated environment. In observing dogs behaviour, it is apparent that when ensuring these simple activities are carried out, a dog becomes much calmer, more confident, less stressed and simply put, a much happier dog.

Our clear goal is the happiness of your dog, however we do not claim to be trainers for extreme behaviours. Therefore we accept dogs into the pack that fit the personality and temperament of the pack dogs and thus we provide a safe environment for all the dogs in the group. This leaves you knowing you can trust that they are being cared for to the upmost.
